why my spanish teacher might actually be a little crazy.

We had this conversation last class (in spanish of course):

Him: “What is the difference between an ogre and a monster?”

Us: “Um….”

Him: (slower this time, thinking we didn’t understand the question) “What is different about an ogre and a monster or a demon?”

Us: bewildered looks and uncomfortable laughs…

Him: “Ogres eat children, monsters just kill them!”

Us: “oooh”

Apparently this is common knowledge. At least I now know to keep my children away from ogres. And I can now say ogre in spanish. How useful.

[We then went on to watch the most disgusting scene from pan’s labyrinth in which an ogre (see pic) bites fairy’s heads off. Lovely. And then we had to write about it. In Spanish. ]

[Disclaimer: he really is a very nice teacher.]
